EXPECTED SCHOOLWIDE LEARNING RESULTS

1. RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS who:•Maintain STEP II and above.
•Evidence positive attitudes and behaviors thereby decreasing suspensions and expulsions.
•Work cooperatively with others thereby decreasing classroom disciplinary referrals.
•Register to vote at the age of 18 if eligible.
2. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS who:
•Read with comprehension and express themselves through writing and the arts as demonstrated by completing English and art requirements with a grade of C or better.
3. ACADEMIC ACHIEVERS who:
•Meet or exceed California State Performance Standards and meet SRCS and state requirements or other exit certification as demonstrated by scoring at a proficient level on STAR tests and by passing the CAHSEE, GED, or CHSPE.
•Strive to be lifelong learners as demonstrated by increasing non-assigned, self chosen reading beyond what they read at their previous high school(s).
•Use higher order level thinking skills to make logical decisions and problem solve as demonstrated by completing math/Algebra and science requirements with a grade of C or better.
•Are technologically literate individuals as demonstrated by completing a computer based class with a grade of C or better.
4. CAREER PLANNERS who:
•Develop appropriate and realistic educational, vocational and personal goals based on their interests, skills, and abilities by completing a resume, and by determining short and long range goals via Ridgway Individual Transition Plan(RITP).
5. HEALTHY INDIVIDUALS who:
•Contribute time, energy, and talent to improve the quality of life for themselves, their school, and their community as evidenced by graduating at the end of the year for which they qualify, and by participating in student government or other extra-curricular activities.
•Promote personal health and wellness as evidenced by attending DACC or other counseling services if needed, and by fulfilling the life skills requirement if appropriate.
