Ridgway was established in 1968 in a temporary building next to the Santa Rosa City School’s district office. Since then Ridgway has grown into a Model Continuation High School serving the other five traditional high schools in Santa Rosa. The campus is on five acres with an adequate number of classrooms, a functioning library, a computer lab and an integrated computer/telecommunication network. Ridgway serves approximately three hundred students in grades 10 through 12.

Staff, parents and students feel that the school is a safe and secure place. The campus culture and routines are well established. Student discipline is handled in a rapid fashion with due respect provided to all involved. Major discipline issues are not a regular occurrence on the campus. The expulsions rate is often the result of students who enroll with prior offenses, the final one occurring at Ridgway.
